Process

  1. Design started in early 2023 with Steering Committee meetings. 

  2. We conducted five Steering Committee meetings and one in-person and virtual Open House through the summer of 2023.

  3. Final Schematic Design was presented to the Board in Fall of 2023 and approved to move into the next design phase.

  4. The design process ran through the Summer 2024. A public open house was held on June 25th from 6pm to 8pm at the Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake Street in the Veterans Room. We presented the latest streetscape design and fielded questions.  See the Presentation.

  5. The Village intends to issue the construction bid in late summer 2025. Construction is anticipated to begin in early 2026 and substantially complete November 2026.
