Let’s Renew the Avenue.

The Oak Park Avenue project will replace 100-plus year old infrastructure with new, state-of-the-art pipes needed to deliver water to residents and businesses alike. The new streetscape will bring new life and energy to the Hemingway District and the surrounding neighborhood while preserving the historical context and value of this vital area.

The project is on track for substantial completion by Thanksgiving 2026.

Oak Park Avenue construction is under way in the central Hemingway business district.

Oak Park Avenue from Randolph to Lake Streets will be closed to all northbound and southbound traffic and street parking beginning the week of March 23, 2026 through November 2026. East-west traffic remains open with local access maintained to the Avenue Parking Garage, 720 North Blvd.
